This device monitors both mains and DG supply simultaneously. When mains supply returns while the DG is running, it sounds a single-tone alert — telling the operator to switch back to mains and shut down the DG.

What powers the alarm during the power cut?

The power failure alarm is powered from your UPS, inverter, or external battery — not from mains. Connect the backup supply terminals to your UPS output. The unit draws approximately 0.35A at 12V DC — a small UPS will run it for hours.

Can both products be installed together?

Yes — and most sites install both. The power failure alarm sounds when mains goes off (so staff start the DG quickly). The mains return hooter sounds when mains comes back (so staff shut down the DG promptly). Together they minimise both outage impact and unnecessary DG running time.

Is the 90×90mm cutout the same as standard panel meters?

Yes — 90×90mm is a standard DIN cutout size used for panel meters, timers, and indicators. No special drilling required if you have an existing 90×90mm cutout available.

Can I connect a remote lamp or panel indicator?

Yes. The relay output on the power failure alarm can drive an external indicator lamp or signal the panel's annunciator system. Relay rated at 1A 230V AC.

Does the mains return hooter work if mains and DG come on simultaneously after a planned shutdown?

Yes — any time both mains and DG inputs are simultaneously energised, the hooter sounds. This covers planned restarts as well as unexpected mains return during DG operation.
