1 to 5 tier LED signal tower — machine status visible from anywhere in the shop floor

A CNC machinist should not have to walk to a machine to know if it is running, faulted, or idle. A 3-tier tower light mounted on the machine column — green running, amber attention, red fault — tells every person in the bay the machine status at a glance from 20 metres away.

Tower lights (also called stack lights or Andon lights) are the universal language of machine status in manufacturing. They cut response time to faults, enable supervisors to monitor multiple machines simultaneously, and are the foundation of Lean and Andon production systems.

IEC colour code — what each colour means

ColourMeaning (IEC 60204-1)Common use
🟢 GreenNormal / Running / OKMachine running within parameters, production in progress
🟡 AmberWarning / Attention neededTool change due, material low, maintenance alert, near limit
🔴 RedFault / Stop / EmergencyMachine fault, E-stop activated, process out of limits
🔵 BlueOperator call requiredQuality check needed, changeover, operator assistance
⚪ WhitePower on / IdleMachine energised but not running, setup mode

How to order

Configure your tower light

1

Choose number of tiers

1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. Standard industrial: 3-tier (R+A+G). Andon system: 4-tier (R+A+G+B). Full suite: 5-tier (R+A+G+B+W).

2

Specify colour sequence

Bottom to top — e.g. "Red bottom, Amber middle, Green top". Standard IEC sequence: Red bottom, Amber middle, Green top.

3

Choose power supply

24V DC for PLC-driven systems. 220V AC for direct mains connection. Specify clearly.

4

Add buzzer if needed

Optional buzzer module at the base — 90 dB, same housing. Specify yes or no.

5

Specify operating mode

Steady, Flashing (0.5Hz or 1Hz), or both. Each tier can have independent mode via PLC output.

Buyers ask us

Can each tier have a different operating mode?
Yes — each tier is independently driven by a separate PLC digital output. You control which tier is on, flashing, or off from your PLC program. This allows, for example, green steady (running) + amber flashing (warning approaching) simultaneously.
What is the wiring?
Each tier has two terminals — positive and common (negative). All tiers share a common negative. For a 3-tier tower with buzzer: 5 wires total. We supply a wiring diagram with every unit.
We need IP54 for a washdown area — is that available?
IP54 (splash-proof) is available on request. Standard product is IP44 (splash-protected but not jet-proof). Specify IP54 at order — 3–5 days additional lead time.
Is this compatible with Schneider Harmony / Qlight / Banner?
Our tower lights are functionally equivalent and use the same tier-and-colour system. Electrical interface (voltage, wiring) is the same. Physical mounting base dimensions may differ — verify your mounting arrangement before substitution.
Minimum order quantity?
No minimum — single units available. Volume pricing from 5 units upward.
